Oh well.
So, Andy, Sam and I were the 3 musketeers at EFY :) Of course, Sam and Andy were bff's and now that Andy is gone, Sam and I have become bffe's! Hahaha, he really is such a special friend and I can't imagine my life without him. He has helped me so much and I'm so proud of him for all that he has been through, and that because he has been through so much, he keeps a smile on his face :)
Today, Sam comes home from his 2 year LDS mission. He served in the Denver, Colorado South mission. He loves his mission. In fact, I think he's wanting to move back to Colorado. Hahaha, oh well. It just goes to show he worked really, really hard. Sam is amazing and is all about serving others. He's very kind-hearted and I'm so glad I was able to meet him at EFY. He really has helped me through so much in my life, and I'm so grateful I was able to write him as well.
I can't wait to hear from him. And I can't wait to see him again! Hopefully he'll come visit in Utah when he can. And hopefully we both can visit Andy's family.
I remember the day Sam was set apart as a missionary. I was dreading it all day. In fact, it was kind of at a really hard time. He left exactly 1 year from the day we found out Andy was gone. I remember feeling so panicked because I couldn't get ahold of Sam. But I eventually did, and he was able to fly in for the funeral, and then we spent the next few days together. Sam was my rock, my shoulder. I could not have made it through those few days without him. He came for Christmas time, and it was nice seeing him again. We were able to visit Andy's grave together, so that Sam could see Andy.
The night he left, he called me. He only had a few hours to make phone calls before he was set apart. I was at the library studying with some friends, and I remember going somewhere more private, and I just cried. Who was I going to run to about Andy? Who was going to understand when I couldn't wait for a letter? I felt like a part of me was going with him, and it was very hard for me.
Now, I can't believe he's home. It went by so fast, and I'm so excited to see him again :) We're only missing one thing, but one day, the 3 musketeers will be together again. We love and miss you Andy :) And Sam, congratulations on finishing your mission. You have returned with honor, and I'm so proud of you! Thank you for being such a wonderful example to me, and always reminding me that the gospel should be my first priority and not my last resort. You have such a wonderful spirit about you, and you shine always. You are so loving, and I'm grateful for our friendship. Welcome home Elder! :)
