Sunshine

So here comes another gospel post :) Haha, these are my favorites, but I can tell its a prompting to share when I can't get off my mind how much I should mention what I learned in Institute or what I felt during the hymn/prayer and such stuff :) So here I go, following the prompting I've ignored since yesterday!

I am taking Book of Mormon pt. 2 and its been wonderful :) My class is amazing and so funny! I enjoy going each Tuesday and Thursday, and I'm extremely sad to say, next week is my last week of Institute :( It's been joyful for me! I've learned so much from my B.O.M. pt. 1 class and pt. 2!! But I'm excited to be moving on and earning credits, and learning as well :) Yesterday, we sang an opening hymn, called "There Is Sunshine In My Soul Today," this song has always been a favorite of mine, and I know that it'll never get old. When someone suggests that we sing a happy, fun song, that song instantly comes to mind. I love the Mormon Tabernacle Choir version! I felt really cheery and happy when I sang yesterday :) Which is why I'm sharing today! So, if you haven't listened to MoTab in a while, then I'm posting the video for you! :) It's the least I can do ;)

Then we began our discussion in Ether! :) Oh Ether. Would my readers like to hear a joke? Alright, here it goes! Who gave candy to the Jaredite children? Want to know the answer?... Guess you'll have to ask! Hahaha just kidding, the Ether bunny gave it to them! :) Silly right!? But it definitely made my teacher laugh! Anyway, I find Ether very extraordinary, and I'm so grateful it was put in the Book of Mormon to lead and guide me! We were reading in chapters 1 and 2 and we were choosing verses that stuck out to us, and what happened in them. One verse that stuck out to me was Ether 1:38

"And it came to pass that Jared spake again unto his brother, saying: Go and inquire of the Lord whether he will drive us out of the land, and if he will drive us out of the land, cry unto whither we shall go. And who knoweth but the Lord will carry us forth into a land which is choice above all the earth? And if it so be, let us be faithful unto the Lord, that we may receive it for our inheritance."

Amazing right!? I underlined all those sentences because they meant so much to me! This is what I wrote about each in my journal:
  • Go and inquire of the Lord whether he will drive us out of the land, and if he will drive us out of the land, cry unto whither we shall go.
That to me means, to call upon the Lord, to help us with whatever we need help with in our lives at that moment, and then if we have faith, knowing he will will "drive us out of the land" then ask what you can do, where you can go, who you can serve, how you can do better.
  • the Lord will carry us forth into a land which is choice above all
  • let us be faithful unto the Lord, that we may receive it for our inheritance.
I know the Lord will lead us to the promised land. No matter what it takes, I know the Lord is there. I've done a lot of thinking about things I've been going through, and one thing I have discovered that is surely positive, that'll never die, is my faith in my Heavenly Father. I know His timing is different than mine. In fact, it couldn't be more different, but I know he'll never forsake me, so why should I forsake my faith? This scripture verse really helped me yesterday, and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. I just felt the power of the Book of Mormon yesterday. When I read this chapter, I just said to myself Why am I not reading this book right now!? It's full of soooo many great things, and here I am, just praying, hoping my answers will come this way. Maybe I should open up that book again. It did great things for me in December, and I know it still can. So then a friend and I have decided to read it together! I'm really excited!! :) Its so funny how I get excited to read the Book of Mormon again, since I've read it so many times, but I really learn something new every time.

I hope all my readers know, that I have a firm testimony of this gospel, and how much peace and comfort the Book of Mormon brings me. It does, even with this one verse. In Jesus' name, Amen.

This is my sweet Andy's favorite Temple, and I added the words to it, because I know he'll be with his family again some day :) That is definitely another blessing about this gospel!
